I am a firm believer that you can never have too much home storage. After all, you can only pile all into the carport for so long before you can no longer park the car in there. Here is a quick list of inexpensive home warehouse projects that will make life a wee easier and maybe even make some room for your car in the garage.

Invest in multifunctional furniture. Some favorites of mine consist of ottomans with inexpressive warehouse compartments, beds with built-in drawers, and the classic Murphy bed which tucks away into the wall, production your guest room twice as functional. Add hooks to doors and unused wall space. These can be used for belts, ties or shoes in the bedroom, and towels or dishrags in the bathroom and kitchen. Slide warehouse boxes under your beds. Suspend wineglass racks under cabinets to display your stemware or attractive china. You can also under mount paper towel dispensers and can openers. Put an inexpensive wine rack in the bathroom to store rolled up towels. Add sturdy shelving and cabinets to the carport walls. In fact, a basic cabinet can be used just about everywhere to create instant storage. This scheme requires some carpentry knowledge and electrical power tools, namely a miter or circular saw, a table saw and router, and a cordless power drill. Expect the creation of a cabinet from scratch to take roughly 3 to 4 hours.
